%X The evaluation of land use and land cover is indispensable to support the sustainable development of a region. The information obtained through the tool of Geographic Information System (GIS) contributes to the planning of the management of environmental resources. The present work had as objective to perform an exploratory-spatial analysis of the municipality of Santo Antônio de Goiás regarding geoenvironmental aspects. In the mapping phase to characterize the study area, we used vector data from the SGEI (State System of Statistics and Geographical Information of Goiás) which were: Soil - scale 1: 100,000 data base: determination of priority areas for Preservation units - Image / WWF - RADAMBRASIL; Land use - 1: 250,000 scale with the Environmental Agency of Goiás database; IBGE municipal boundaries - scale 1: 100,000 SIG-Goiás database - Geology and Mining Superintendency - SIC. In addition to the vector data acquired on the SIEG website, it was acquired on the website of the National Institute of Space Research (INPE), where data were obtained from the TOPODATA project, in addition to the Landsat 7 satellite image. Cartographic projection, referenced in the UTM cartographic projection system, spindle 22, in the SIRGAS 2000 datum. According to the geoenvironmental analysis, the municipality of Santo Antônio de Goiás presented a high hydrological potential with agricultural aptitude for farming. The geology of the studied territory was diversified fact justified by the characteristics of tropical climate. In the classification of soil its predominance is of latosol and can be used in the crop-livestock integration system. The declivity presented a smooth undulating relief with low environmental vulnerability.
